Does Taobao Ship to the Philippines? How to Order

Taobao is a marketplace built for buyers inside China. Most sellers only deliver within China, so Filipino buyers get their orders home one of two ways: Taobao's own consolidated shipping (where it is offered for your items), or a forwarder's China warehouse. Here is how both work, what they cost, and how to order step by step.

Taobao's own shipping vs a forwarder

Taobao runs its own consolidation service through its logistics arm, Cainiao, and third-party guides list the Philippines among its destinations. Whether it is available for your order depends on the items and the seller: check at checkout in the app before you plan around it. Where it works, it is convenient for a few small personal items.

A forwarder makes more sense when:

Taobao vs 1688 — pick the right one

Buying to resell? Start with 1688. Buying for yourself or testing a product? Taobao is easier.

Step 1 — Register

You can register with a Philippine number: in the app, choose 菲律宾 / Philippines as your region, enter your number, and confirm the OTP. Make sure you're on Taobao China (mainland region), not a regional variant.

Step 2 — Search and vet

Search in Chinese for dramatically better results — translate your term first. Then check seller ratings, review volume, and buyer photos. Taobao's review system is detailed; use it.

Step 3 — Ship to your China warehouse address

Taobao delivers domestically within China. Enter your Angkat China warehouse address as the delivery address, with your client code so we can match the parcel to you.

Step 4 — Consolidate

This is where the money is saved. Order from several Taobao sellers, let everything accumulate at our warehouse under your code, then ship it home as one consignment. Ten small parcels shipped separately cost far more than ten parcels consolidated into one.

Step 5 — Ship to the Philippines

Sea freight (15–25 days, cheapest, good for bulk) or air freight (5–7 days, 1 kg minimum, better for small and valuable).

How much does it cost to ship Taobao orders to the Philippines?

With Angkat, rates are all-in: freight, customs duties and taxes, port fees on both ends and warehouse fees are included (full matrix).

MethodRateTransit (from our China warehouse)
Sea (LCL)From ₱9,250 per CBM for household, apparel and daily goods (up to 5 CBM). Flat rates for small packages; no minimum CBM.15–25 days
Air₱490/kg for ordinary items up to 50 kg; sensitive items and gadgets cost more. 1 kg minimum.5–7 days

Add a few days for the Taobao seller to deliver to our warehouse inside China. Not sure how big your order is in CBM? The shipping cost guide works it out from carton sizes.

Watch the customs threshold

Consolidation is efficient but raises consignment value. Above ₱10,000 FOB, duties and 12% VAT apply to the whole consignment.

What you can't ship

Counterfeits are the big one — Taobao carries plenty of replica goods, and they will not clear Philippine customs. Also excluded: second-hand clothing, live plants and animals, frozen goods, and certain chemicals.

Taobao Philippines FAQ

Is Taobao available in the Philippines?

Yes. You can download the Taobao app, register with a Philippine mobile number and shop normally. What most sellers do not offer is delivery to a Philippine address: they deliver inside China. You either use Taobao's own consolidated shipping where it is offered for your items, or send the order to a forwarder's China warehouse.

Does Taobao have cash on delivery (COD) in the Philippines?

No. Taobao orders are paid upfront in the app. If you ship through Angkat, you only prepay the Taobao order itself; the freight is billed after your goods arrive in Manila, against an itemised statement.

How long does Taobao shipping to the Philippines take?

Through Angkat: 15 to 25 days by sea or 5 to 7 days by air, counted from when the parcel reaches our China warehouse. Domestic delivery from the Taobao seller to the warehouse usually adds a few days.

How much is Taobao shipping to the Philippines?

Through Angkat, sea freight starts at ₱9,250 per CBM all-in for household, apparel and daily goods, with flat rates for small packages. Air freight starts at ₱490 per kg for ordinary items, with a 1 kg minimum.

Can I ship Taobao orders from several sellers together?

Yes, and you should. Every seller delivers to the same warehouse under your client code, and we ship everything home as one consignment. Watch the ₱10,000 customs threshold when you consolidate.
